Cook the rice. Consider doing this in the rice cooker. Use 3/4 cup dry rice and 3/4 cup plus 1.5 tbsp (or 199 mL)

In a clean saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups cooked rice (which 3/4 dry rice will make), 1 1/2 cups milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy, 15-20 minutes.

Beat the egg.

Stir in remaining milk, beaten egg, and raisins. Cook 2 minues more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla, and serve.
